What is our year end show?
All of the weekly training and practice our dancers do culminates in a spectacular production, at our year-end in June. Everything the dancers have learned throughout the year is packaged up in a magical story, complete with costumes, lights and presented on a professional stage.
Being familiar with the information provided here is crucial for this show to run smoothly and for our dancers and their families to have an enjoyable experience.
Any updates will be posted here on the website, social media (Facebook & Instagram) as well as notices posted in the studio waiting area.
We strive to produce a wonderful year-end experience for all, and it is only with your help that this can be attained.
Commitment from you and your child is paramount. What is learned while being part of a production goes well beyond the studio and theatre walls.
Thank you for taking the time to read this information and marking your calendars for key dates/times! Please speak to us as soon as possible should a conflict in your schedule arise.

Further details and explanations
All dancers are measured in January in order for their costumes to be custom made by our in-house sewists in time for the Year-End Production.
Costume construction starts immediately after measurements are taken, so if your student will not be performing in the Year-End Production, the studio must be notified by December 15. Any students withdrawing after the December 15 deadline will be invoiced the full Costume Payment fee, without exception.
Dancer measurements are taken in-class. Should your child miss the in-class measuring day due to illness or holiday, we will offer one other open measurement time slot at the studio. If your child is not be able to attend either studio measurement days, you will have to make special arrangements with the sewist for a private measuring appointment for a charge of $20.
Costume Payment envelopes are distributed in May. Payments are returned to the studio but are paid directly to the sewists, not to Mi-Cher, according to the details printed on the envelopes. Costume Payments are by cash or cheque(s) made payable to the specific sewist, as detailed on the envelope. Costumes will only be given out once all costume fees are received at the studio.
Backstage/Dressing Room Guardians
The Dress Rehearsal and Production days require backstage guardians for our younger students, Grade 4 and under. In the past we have struggled arranging volunteers. Starting this year the studio will be collecting $15 per dancer to hire guardians directly.
You will be required to remit your payment, in cash, in an envelope with your child’s name and class noted, by the beginning of June.
Tickets are sold through the Bell Performing Arts Centre Box Office. Though the studio sets the base price, there are levies and taxes added by the theatre. The ticket price is set only to cover the costs of the theatre rental and other production expenses, not to generate revenue.
In studio rehearsals are only for students in the following levels: Intermediate Foundation A, B & C, Advanced Foundation and Advanced 1.
The Dress Rehearsal is MANDATORY for all dancers! June is a very busy time of the year, the dates fo the dress rehearsal and year end show have been published September each year to assist with scheduling and reduce conflicts.
If your child is involved in other activities, please inform those groups of your Mi-Cher commitment.
The Photo Day schedule will be posted immediately after Spring Break. Please have your child dressed in their costume, and arrive 15 minutes prior to the time posted for your child’s class.
Make-up and hair details will go home with your child’s costume.
Please be sure your child’s tights are clean! If they have holes or runs, please mend or purchase new before Photo Day.
