How to make a ballet bun – step by step instructions
What you will need:
Spray bottle, filled with water.
Fine tooth comb
Spray hair with water until damp, comb a small amount of gel through hair, with comb or fingers. Pay special attention around the face, ears and neck.
Gather hair, pull into a ponytail, high or at the back of the head. This will determine the position of the final bun. Hold ponytail with your hand, use brush to smooth any bumps in the hair.
Secure the ponytail with hair elastic. Use fine tooth comb to carefully smooth out any remaining bumps.
Apply more water and gel to the hair in the pony tail. Holding the ponytail upwards, twist the ponytail.
Coil the ponytail into a tight circle around the hair elastic.
Using bobby pins, secure the bun in place. Hook a section of coiled hair in the bun with the bobby pin, tuck the bobby pin into the bun catching a bit of the hair on the head as well.
Finish our bun using a hair net that matches the hair colour. Stretch the hair net over your hands, and hook over the bun, stretch the hair net and twist, hook over the bun again, stretch, twist and hook over bun as many times as needed, tuck any remaining hair net into the base of the bun. Secure with a bobby pin if needed.
For extra hold, spray with hair spray.
