Dear Mi-Cher families,
We hope you are all safe, home and staying healthy. And practising your ballet!
Because of the current federal, provincial and municipal restrictions in place to help keep our community healthy, we are adapting our plans for our Year-End Production of Mermaid’s Adventure. Having said that, we are having to adapt to the possibility of reduced class time for learning dances, the potential for the Bell Centre to be closed June 13 and 14. And what about all of those beautiful costumes that are well into fabrication!
- Class Time: We will follow the Surrey School Board’s lead as to whether classes will be held or not. Stay tuned.
- Bell Centre: They are currently only cancelling 30 days out so June 13 and 14 are still on the schedule. Stay tuned.
- Costumes: Our sewists have been busy since before Christmas designing, buying fabric and other notions, cutting and sewing all of the beautiful costumes for the year-end production. Although your Production Fee pays for the fabrics, the notions and labour fees are normally billed directly to you in May once the costumes are finished, just before you take them home in time for Photo Day (again, stay tuned), the Dress Rehearsal and the Year-End Production. Since finishing all of the costumes to have them not be worn would be very sad, and expensive, for our sewists and our families, we have decided to halt the fabrication of the costumes, despite the fact almost all are at least cut out ready for sewing, if not already sewn. Should the virus situation change enough for us to continue with classes and present a Production, sewing will resume and we will endeavour to provide each child with one costume.
As we hope you can appreciate, being a small business, we rely on your fees to cover our costs, including payroll and rent.
For those who have paid their fees in full, rather than offer refunds, a credit will be entered into your account to be applied to 2020/2021 lesson fees.
For those who pay in installments with post-dated cheques or credit card, we would appreciate payment as usual April 1st, and again, credit will be entered into your account for your 2020/2021 lesson fees installment.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Cheryl Geddert by phone or email: micherdance@gmail.com. Updates will be posted on our website and our FaceBook page. Please stay tuned and stay healthy.
This is not how we intended our year to roll out. We are hopeful we will see you all soon! Practise, practise, practise!
